We have an immediate opportunity with a long established multinational client based in Shannon, Co. Clare for Health & Safety Officer for an initial 12 month contract, with opportunity to extend. Profile of candidates would be Health & Safety Graduate with a minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar multinational manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safety administration work including record keeping and filing.
• Safety promotion including monthly updating of safety notice boards, monthly safety newsletter and monthly safety quiz.
• Monitor safety performance and provide updates and recommendations to H\S specialist.
• To conduct safety activities, risk assessments and safety spot checks to assure the organisation continues to be safe and secure place to work
• Deliver safety induction and safety training programs as required.
• Administration of the chemical label system and chemical risk assessment as required,
• Assist with the interpretation, communication, implementation of and compliance with appropriate legislation and regulations
• Incident reporting and investigation and to process confirm corrective/preventative actions.
• Participation in weekly safety meetings and safety committee meetings.
• Support the health and safety evaluation of new activities / equipment.
• Support the Quality Manager with the development of a safe culture of Continuous Improvement
• To support the Health and Safety Specialist in carrying out their duties
• Undertake projects and other assignments as allocated by the Quality Manager
Background & Experience:
• Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline – essential
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar role in multinational manufacturing environment.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation.
• Self motivated, with the ability to work with minimum direction.
• Ability to prioritise workload to ensure all tasks are completed in line with department goals and objectives
