We are currently looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join a growing engineering company based in Shannon, Co. Clare.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Purchasing Specialist will liaise with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally, building relationships and ensuring materials required for production are sourced, ordered and arrive within agreed schedules.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Purchasing Specialist to really ‘own’ their role and have an input into the Purchasing and procurement process.
Responsibilities will include:

Working with suppliers and vendors to source, obtain quotes and order material and services while minimizing costs and maintaining required quality

Issue and track Purchase Orders to ensure they are received per agreed delivery schedules and any supply issues are addressed in timely manner

Timely communication with internal stakeholders

Daily communication and co-ordination with different departments regarding scheduling of incoming orders and solving day-to-day issues

Maintain Customs imports records

Coordinating freight and shipping of orders

Maintain purchasing KPIs, monitor and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess

Maintain accurate forecasts to ensure adequate inventory for production planning.
Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment

Previous experience with ERP/SAP systems

Excellent IT skills: Microsoft Word; Excel; Outlook

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Fluent English both written and verbal

Ability to prioritise with excellent organisational and time management skills

Solution orientated approach to problem solving

Desired but not essential experience in Customs Import/Export procedures.
