Entertainment Coordinator (Part-Time Limerick)
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and coordinating person centred events and activities for active daily living for the senior citizens in the home with the overall aim of improving their intellectual, physical and general health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities to include:
- The main aim is to improve the intellectual, physical and overall health of the people in your care
- Organise and co-ordinate an activities and event programme that will maintain interest and progression of individual and group participants over a period of time
- The weekly calendar of events and activities needs to be developed in conjunction with other team members to ensure they are safe and relevant to the patients requirements e.g. Home Manager, Nursing and Care Staff
- Liaise with third parties to organise entertainment and events
- Encourage involvement from the local community to attend the activities
- Organise and escort residents on trips out as necessary
- Assist with budgeting for the supporting materials required to deliver the various events and activities
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous work experience in a similar role with a wide range of practical and creative skills e.g. arts, crafts and leading other entertainment activities with individuals and groups etc
- Ideally have a relevant training qualification e.g. QQI and/or SONAS
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a range of activity programmes in both individual and group settings
- Committed, patient and caring approach with a good sense of humour and a positive outlook on life
