Health & Safety Consultant - (Contract/Part-Time)
Responsibilities to include:
- To complete client specific Safety Management System (SMS) audits to evaluate the effectiveness of an organisations health and safety systems and develop a report identifying recommendations and corrective actions that maybe required
- Lead Safety Inspections to ensure compliance against company safety policies and procedures, current legislation and best industry practice
- Conduct and document on-site Risk Assessments to identify workplace hazards and to assess the risks associated with those hazards while outlining protective controls and preventative measures indicated
- Develop organisation specific Safety Statements and Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Deliver in-house Health & Safety related training to managers and employees
- Identify opportunities and develop new customised training courses as industry needs demand
Criteria:
- A Primary Degree (level 8) preferred or minimum of
- Diploma Qualification in Health & Safety (Dip SHWW or similar)
- Minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate experience working in a Health and Safety or Environmental Health & Safety capacity
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and industry specific Code of Practice
- Strong effective communicator with excellent report writing skills and strong interpersonal communication ability
- Very good attention to detail and conscientious follow up on commitments
Experienced in developing and delivering client specific Health and Safety related training
