Occupational Therapist
We are now recruiting for full/ part time Occupational Therapist/s to work in community hospitals and nursing homes in Dublin and Leinster region. Our company is a National Company delivering Occupational Therapy at the highest standard to extended care and step down facilities. Full professional clinical support and supervision and part of a dynamic wider occupational therapy team.
Care of Elderly Posts
The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities in the Care of the Elderly setting.
- Assess the case history of patients including physical and psychosocial approach.
- Using appropriate theoretical models in occupational therapy interventions.
- Devise and carry out appropriate assessments and interventions (e.g. seating, feeding, pressure relief, meaningful activities of daily living, cognitive and perceptual assessments. Psychosocial interventions. Advising on the use of medical aids and appliances. Preparation for home.
- Source medical equipment solutions as appropriate and document all recommendations
- Assist individuals in becoming independent following medical episodes.
- Work with other health professionals such as nurses, speech therapists, physiotherapists, activity coordinators etc
- Liaise with patients’ families and other relevant agencies
