We are currently seeking a highly skilled Head of Operations to join a dynamic team within a leading tourism development organization. This role presents a compelling opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant impact in the operational management of a prominent visitor attraction.
As the Head of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a renowned visitor attraction. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate closely with senior management and operational teams to enhance the visitor experience and uphold the organization's commitment to excellence.
 
A flexible attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile are essential. The role will primarily be based at the designated site with occasional travel to other tourism locations within the portfolio. Operational hours may vary seasonally, including weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordination of operational activities across multiple visitor attraction sites
  • Implementation and enforcement of standard operating procedures and policies
  • Compliance with legislative standards and company expectations
  • Rostering and supervision of staff to ensure efficient operations
  • Health and safety management for employees and visitors
  • Capacity planning and operational forecasting
  • Collaboration with the marketing department to develop new products and services
  • Maintenance of site standards and facility management
  • Handling of customer complaints and crisis management situations
  • Development of operational plans to optimize site performance
 
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • Proven track record in operational and health & safety management, with a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience
  • Diploma or degree in tourism, visitor management, or related discipline preferred; health & safety qualification advantageous
  • Experience with workforce management systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility in approach
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Commitment to excellence and continual innovation
  • Full, clean driving license required
  • Willingness to adapt to changing environments and work schedules
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strategic mindset
