Occupational Therapist – Staff Grade

HealthcareDirect are currently looking to employ a Full-Time Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join our team with immediate effect in Galway. You will work in a HSE facility providing service to the Short Stay Bed Unit in Galway County. The Short Stay Bed Unit is based in a nursing home setting. You will be supported by the HSE Occupational Therapy Manager and have regular contact with our Healthcare Direct Occupational Therapy Clinical Manager. Salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
• Have at least one year’s Occupational Therapy experience and have CORU registration in place
• Deliver a comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning in a fast paced setting
• Devise and carry out appropriate assessments e.g. seating, hoist & slings, cognition, functional needs and identify equipment needs
• Work with other Healthcare Professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists etc
• Liaise with patients’ families and other relevant agencies
• Active engagement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) e.g. Staff Training Days
• Participate in the service Annual Performance Review System

Prerequisites:
• Be able for an immediate start date
• Minimum of 1 year working as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience in providing Occupational Therapy intervention in a fast paced acute setting
• Degree qualified
• Have CORU registration in place
• Have Membership with the AOTI
• Full driver’s license and access to a car
• Occupational Therapy Private Indemnity Insurance
