IT Engineer
eFlexes are currently seeking a hands-on IT Engineer for a highly valued client based in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, experienced and confident IT Engineer to join a well-established company within the Aviation sector.
This is a standalone position, perfect for an IT professional with a positive attitude who enjoys a challenging and dynamic role. Candidates should also have experience supporting in company and cloud solutions, including various replication and disaster recovery technologies, with extensive hands-on experience in a multi-facility, enterprise environment which supports infrastructure and network administration.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support End Users running Windows 10
- Provide network infrastructure support for multi-building, multi-location company
- Responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents with respect to networking and desktop environments, including LANs, WANs, remote access, and VPNs.
- Plan, install, and support hardware and software upgrades and resolves associated technical issues
- Ability to communicate in both technical and business environments
- Manage all IT Infrastructure and Network Functions
- Manage and monitor all installed systems
- Management of the information technology and computer systems for the business
- Development of the IT Strategy in conjunction with the overall business
- Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation
- Conducting regular system reviews and ensuring compliance
- Assuring all IT activities are performed to a high standard
- IT Security and Cyber Security Management
- Disaster Recovery Plans & Tests
- Selecting, sourcing, and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Third level qualification in an IT related discipline
- Experience and working knowledge within, MS Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 and up
- Understanding of network connectivity/cabling and networking
- Experience as administrator of Windows Active Directory, Group policies, DNS, DHCP, TCP-IP.
- Networking support for Routers and Switches
- Previous experience with Microsoft Azure AD and Azure Cloud Services
- Knowledge of Office 365; Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience with SonicWall VPN and Firewall
- Network Security
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and leadership skills
- Results driven with a collaborative style and positive attitude, open to change when required
- Ability to clearly explain work being performed to stakeholders
- Knowledge on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making ability
- Project management skills that include organisation, planning and time management
