Warehouse Supervisor
A great opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor is now available with a Limerick based Client. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the business meets the demands placed on it by its client.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, and serving as a member of the wider Warehouse Management Team, this position's primary responsibility is to ensure that your team are working together to achieve the plans set out for the shift. You will be responsible for managing the warehouse during your shift.
This is a day shift position that runs 5 days over 7 with a high level of flexibility required during peak times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all the different areas under your control during your shift ensuring that we meet customer orders
- Follow the daily detailed plan
- Deliver the daily workload plan that is received from the client
- Maintenance of internal IT systems and other customer systems and equipment
- Manage the health & safety of employees and emergency systems, according to company policy and relevant legislations
- Follow all SOPS for the areas within your control
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are met
- Provide leadership to your team, ensuring smooth day to day running of the warehouse
- Ensure timely and effective communication with your Team and the customers Teams
- Optimise the use of personnel, equipment and resources
- Ensure that all the human resource objectives are met by ensuring the training, assigning and performance management of employees; communicating job expectations and adherence to policies and procedures are carried out on your shift
- Ensure that all records for your team are kept up to date and accurate for training and all items identified above
- Support the Warehouse Manager and respond effectively and efficiently to requests from the Management Team as required
- Complete performance appraisals for your team and execution of your direct report’s development plans
- Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements
Skills & Experience required
- Previous experience in a Supply Chain or Logistics role
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve results would be desirable
- Experience working within an ISO environment would also be beneficial
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (SAP, WMS) desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally would be an essential attribute for this position
- Proficient in all MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) essential
