Due to continued growth, our Clare based client has a new and exciting position for a Quality Engineer to join their Team. Our Client is a long-established multinational, manufacturing and selling a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world.
This position will be involved with quality systems and will work closely with management to identify improvement activities, as well as support long term corporate quality projects. The successful candidate will report directly to the Divisional Quality Engineer, based in the U.S.

Responsibilities include:

Quality Management Systems

Support compliance with ISO9001 and EN12966.

Quality Assurance Tools and Process Improvement
-
Leadership and Performance Management
-
Process and product improvements; communicate effectively with team members to identify and introduce process improvements

Support supplier quality activities such as first article inspections and new supplier qualifications.

Travel to suppliers to perform supplier audits and supplier visits to resolve quality issues
-
Work with suppliers on performance improvements activities utilizing APQP tools such as: 8D, SPC, FMEA, Quality Control Plan, DoE, PPAP, etc.

Provide technical support for test and calibration

Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the efforts of Our clients
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent

Strong oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills

Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business communications, governmental regulations, industry standards, and technical procedures, drawings, and specifications

Ability to effectively present information and respond to management, employees, customers, and suppliers

Self-motivated, with the ability to organise workload and prioritise schedule, to align with company plans

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment

Working knowledge/experience in Lean Manufacturing, Quality, and Six Sigma implementation

Familiarity with the use of various quality tools such as 8-Step, FMEA, DoE, SPC, and various problem-solving tools is preferred

Candidates should have a level of fitness that enables them to lift up to 45 lbs. And the ability to stand or sit for an entire shift

The role requires the ability to travel by air and ground, a valid driver’s license and good driving record (Motor vehicle record will be checked) Ability to travel overnight to domestic and international locations is essential
