Attention Supply Chain professionals! We are currently looking for a Logistics Manager for our Client, an Irish owned company based in Shannon, Co. Clare.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the role involves the management of the team responsible for the coordination of shipments and deliveries from Europe throughout the world. This includes liaising with Freight Forwarders to arrange collections and deliveries, processing of shipments through the ERP system, provision of customer documents such as packing lists and certificates of analysis, Freight Forwarder management and problem resolution.
Part of a larger group of companies extending across 140 countries, this role will have exposure to international markets and worldwide logistics operations.
A GDP & GMP approved facility, there is a heavy emphasis on regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical and medical device fields.

Responsibilities will include:

The effective Management of the Logistics team and all associated activities.

The Motivation, and personnel issues of all members of the Logistics team.

The implementation of Management strategies and plans.

Reporting to Management trends and Analysis of the logistics data such as freight forwarder performance, freight spend etc.

Ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to, e.g., transport temperature monitoring, compliance of service providers such as freight forwarders.

Promote and support business excellence leading by example. Developing partnerships internally with the various functions.

Creative and forward thinking, identifying opportunities to improve organisational systems and processes.

Exchange of information with sister companies, and developing strong relationships with international peers.

Ensure the effective, efficient and compliant handling of materials throughout the supply chain from supplier to customer.

All logistic associated activities required for the preparation of shipments throughout Europe and worldwide including Asia Pacific countries, USA, Central America and Turkey, preparation of Invoices, shipment documentation and all associated documents for customs compliance at home and abroad.

Preparation of consignments and paperwork for shipment/drop shipment.

Liaison with carriers to determine economic freight rates and ensure safe and timely arrival of the consignment. Freight tendering and benchmarking as part of cost management.

Ensuring relevant record keeping for Logistics areas.

Ensuring quality requirements are maintained throughout the process and in compliance with certified standards.

Writing and maintaining procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations as well as regulatory compliance in all activities.

Ensuring the Logistics staff are fully trained and skilled in fulfilment of their roles.

Identifying processes requiring risk assessment and/or validation and assisting processing the same.

Process mapping and streamlining of Logistics processes.

Preparation of Operation’s Goals and Objectives.

Ensure product Identification and traceability.
Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Supply Chain Management with work related experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical company or equivalent.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident at all levels, internal and external.

A proven track record in leadership, including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate and empower others.

Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively. Technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures and workflows. Present numerical data effectively.

Demonstrate aptitude for process improvement.

Excellent IT Skills – and knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage.
