The position of Project Manager is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in playing a significant role within the tourism sector in a full-time, permanent capacity.
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and work closely with Clare County Council, as well as Senior Management within the organization, to help develop these iconic visitor attractions into a World-Class Visitor Experience.
This position oversees and directs all aspects of the Operations of the sites and will have a focus on service delivery and the achievement quality standards and objectives.
Priority Areas for the Project Manager Are:
- The Projects and Health & Safety of their service delivery and achievement.
- Ensuring that the key objectives of the organisation are met by managing workloads that maximises the use of resources.
- Management of projects team and work closely with Senior Management.
- Ensuring a world class visitor experience through the implementation of key structural projects and engagement with the local community.
The main duties of the Project Manager include:
- Directs project development from start to finish, coordinating with consultants for timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and staff regarding construction projects.
- Participates in design meetings and proposes improvements as needed.
- Manages project paperwork and correspondence efficiently.
- Liaises with contractors and resolves site queries promptly.
- Drafts budget proposals and monitors project budgets closely.
- Develops and maintains crucial business relationships.
- Proactively manages project scope changes and identifies risks.
- Prepares tender briefs and documentation, evaluates tenders, and oversees contracts.
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provides operational and project support across departments.
- Prepares internal reports monitoring progress, budget, and risk assessment.
- Acts as the main point of contact for project-related matters.
- Completes assigned projects and supports associated tourism initiatives for Clare County Council.
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Candidates ideally possess a Diploma/Degree in a similar or related management discipline. Candidates with suitable project management experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within project management.
- Experience with Public Procurement Guidelines is desirable.
- Excellent client and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work under pressure with a demanding workload.
- Proficient IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues.
