We have an immediate Permanent opportunity with a Client based in Limerick City , to organise transport load planning & develop a more efficient and cost effective logistics function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Building close working relationships and consistently communicate with suppliers, operations, sales and the customer base to develop a more efficient transport and logistics function
• Working with onsite cross functional teams in delivering transport and logistics related changes/upgrades
• Planning and scheduled finished bagged product and outgoing products to maximum efficiency and to the agreed service levels
• Scheduling, controlling and allocating drivers as required
• Developing and implementing a more streamlined transport and logistics function
• Providing customer support and ensuring that customers have upto date delivery
• Using telesales to improve vehicle pay loads
• Liaising with departments to ensure that all systems are in line with requirements
• Liaising with sales and operations to deliver real time information
• Ensuring that all documentation and administration is completed to the highest standards
• Providing support to the transport team during periods of annual leave
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:
• Excellent command of English (both written and verbal)
• Strong communication skills
• Methodical approach to work
• Must be comfortable and have experience with transport/logistics systems. Good PC skills.
• Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well with others and use a team approach
• Ability to multitask
